MARBLE MOSAIC Modern throw quilt 59 by 67 inches

This modern, abstract quilt started with a set of twelve gorgeous prints in gemstone shades and neutrals. Rich tones of citrine, sapphire, tourmaline, amethyst, pink diamond, and garnet plus neutrals in white and gray are veined in metallic silver and gold to mimic the look of marble.  After cutting up the fabrics, I shuffled all the colors around and joined the pieces of the puzzle using skinny strips of dark gray.  The result is this dynamic mosaic quilt. A double border of dark gray and black frames the blocks. The random placement of color and the rotation of the block orientation provides movement and keeps the eye dancing around the surface of the quilt. The elegant palette and modern design will be right at home in your modern, bohemian, or traditional home.  Perfectly sized for living room, bedroom, reading nook or patio.

I used gray thread to stitch parallel lines across the width of the quilt. This stitching gives the quilt a lush texture, crinkled appearance, and easy drape.  Unbleached cotton batting gives the quilt lightweight warmth. The reverse side and the binding is Kona solid in Fog. The binding was attached with two rounds of machine stitching for durability. All fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.

Care: Machine wash in cold water. Tumble dry, low heat; or air dry flat if you prefer. The quilt has been machine washed and dried after construction, to shrink it to its final dimensions.
