BOMBAY MARTINI Modern throw quilt 64 by 54 inches

I used a combination of batik and designer prints and an abstract overlapping rectangle design to create this contemporary throw quilt with midcentury design appeal.  The patterns of the fabrics include color waves, arrows, circles, webbing, ellipses and triangles.  The main colors are orange, cantaloupe, turquise, aqua, teal and gray – all set against a background of brilliant Kona cotton White.  The abstract, minimal design of overlapping rectangles plus the unique fabrics give a groovy, mid-century feel to this quilt.  A perfect addition to your contemporary home – living room, bedroom, patio or reading nook. Or hang it on the wall as a contemporary art piece with big graphic impact.

The reverse side has an improv pieced column framed by ash and an orange retro star print. I stitched parallel lines across the width of the quilt, giving it an easy drape, crinkled appearance, and a lush, textured feel. Unbleached cotton batting gives the quilt lightweight warmth.  The binding in an aqua grid print was attached securely with two rounds of machine stitching for durability. All fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.

Care: Machine wash in cold water. Tumble dry, low heat; or air dry flat if you prefer. The quilt has been machine washed and dried after construction, to shrink it to its final dimensions.
