OPEN HOUSE Modern quilt 62 by 82 inches. Twin size or long throw

This is door quilt number 9! I construct each door using a combo of solid and print fabrics from my stash and a design method I think of as “controlled improv.”  The result is a collection of colorful doors with a variety of window and panel shapes that give this quilt its unique charm. The door colors include blue, green, purple, yellow, red, pink, gold and orange on white.  The colorful doors really pop against the crisp white background. I used a dark teal constellation print as a frame around the edges of the quilt. This original quilt will bring a splash of color and whimsy to your home.  I think it would make an ideal housewarming or wedding gift too! At 62 by 82 inches, this quilt will fit a twin-size bed or serve as an extra-long throw in your living room, bedroom or reading nook or hang it on the wall as graphic, colorful wall art.

The reverse side is made with a Charley Harper bird print bordered by solid cotton in Fog.  I used a simple stipple stitch design for the quilting to provide all-over texture and that classic crinkled quilt look. Unbleached cotton batting provides lightweight warmth.  The binding was attached securely with two rounds of machine stitching for durability. All fabrics and batting are premium 100% cotton.

Care: Machine wash in cold water. Tumble dry, low heat; or air dry flat if you prefer. The quilt has been machine washed and dried after construction, to shrink it to its final dimensions.
